View Emma's winning essay. Essay prompt: On 9/11, many heroic men and women ran toward the Twin Towers in the hope of saving lives. They were members of the NYC Fire and Police departments, who willingly became public servants knowing that doing so may cost them their lives. Explain the role of public service and the debt we owe to those who lose their life in service.

In addition to the essay contest participants, we would like to thank Mr. James Pritchard from Henry Moore School for advertising and encouraging students to participate in the essay contest.
