Recipe provided by CCWC. "This is our special chili recipe from our annual Loaf & Ladle. We are happy to share it with you!!"


  • 1 ½ pound ground beef
  • 1 ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped green or red pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 16-oz can tomatoes (diced)
  • 2 16-oz can dark red kidney beans, drained
  • 2 8-oz cans tomato sauce
  • 4-6 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil, crushed
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 beef bullion cubes


  1. In large saucepan cook ground beef, onion, pepper and garlic till meat is brown. Drain fat.
  2. Stir in undrained tomatoes, kidney beans (drained), tomato sauce, all spices and the beef
  3. bullion cubes.
  4. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Cover; simmer for 20 minutes.
